Gold’s gym in E Islip hosted the Team in Training spin training with instructor Jade. Simply amazing! She turned our boring 60 min w/o into a 90 min “tour de France” simulation… Just by closing our eyes, we were there climbing the alps & the Pyrenees! I wasn’t riding next to George but rather Lance Armstrong!! Until I opened my eyes, of course! Thank u Jade, for the most incredible experience… Even though the video was inoperable, u coached us thru it… We were there! TNT won the race! High 5 everyone

Training has begun again

Team PT & Beyond has begun training for another century ride in June!!
Although it was 60 degrees outside, we did a Spin class at Gold’s gym in East Setauket. Thanks to our instructor, Michelle, we had an awesome workout. We trained with the triathletes for TNT & actually starting thinking about doing a triathlon to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma society. What do ya think???

38 miles out of Yaphank yesterday which started with near-frostbite! First 5 miles couldn’t feel my pinkys, not even the handwarmers would help! But it took just one hill & I was sweating!!
So great ride till mile 30, when my legs just decided I was Done!! But we had 8 more miles to go… So with bilateral knee pain I trudged on, wondering how I could feel so out of shape when I work out 5 days per week!! Sport specific!!! Ah, yes… I could run & lift weights but that isn’t that repetitive riding that I have become so attached to! We did it!!!

Wow, St Catherines hospital hosted a wonderful dinner last nite, to celebrate those courageous woman who beat Breast Cancer. I was honored to be invited by Dr June Lee, the breast surgeon with whom I co-lectured with last Wednesday at Physical Therapy & Beyond during our Helping You Help Yourself series.

What a terrific ride Coach George put together today! He kept true to the promised mileage & even made sure we stopped for some sweets at Shelia’s Sweet Shop! Yummy! What a day! The Deer that ran across the road just missed the 2 George’s! Whew!! Time to switch to my 500# bike & head out east with the rest of the population for some pumpkins! Where will I put them u ask?! Humm…
